Laurie and Jo

“Jo,” he finally said, in a tone of terrible and only half-feigned sadness, “when I am finally confined to a sanatorium because of you, my only satisfaction will be knowing that you will always be close at hand. Possibly in the very next room.”

She had the gall— he was currently refusing to admit it charmed him completely—to throw her head back and laugh. “Oh, Teddy, you are quite the romantic. European suites are not enough for us—we must have matching lunatic cells for two!”
